When You Heal You Grow
We are all susceptible to experiencing emotional pain and hurt. It can really get us down and make us feel bad about our situation, our future and ourselves. We can feel helpless and hopeless, and that we have little or no control over our lives.
Despite this, it is important to appreciate how much personal growth and development can be achieved through the process of healing. This doesn’t always happen, however, without purposeful change, hard work, self-love, acceptance and letting go.
It is in times of difficulty that you should love yourself more, not less. Always show yourself compassion and understanding at times when you need it most and never deny yourself love. The way in which you love yourself is the way in which you teach others to love you. The way in which you love others is the channel for the love you can receive. Love more, not less.
Instead of helping us grow, some situations simply hold us back and do nothing to help us heal. It is these situations that we must learn to let go of. Look out for signs you may receive and trust your intuition. When something feels uncomfortable and doesn’t feel right, it is time to act. You do not lose anything by letting go. It is holding on and focussing on the wrong thing that delays healing and limits growth. In the same way, letting go is not painful. It is the holding on that causes the pain to persist.
Only once we have overcome difficulties do we realise by how much we have grown. With this in mind, we can look at difficulties differently; we can look at them as opportunities for growth.
Whatever arises, love it. Whatever shows up in your life, there is a reason for it. Embrace it! Good or bad there are lessons to be learnt, value to be gained, growth to be cherished & wisdom to be shared.
