Who Will You Love This Valentines?
Who Will You Love This
Valentines?
Happy February all: the month for love. Even though the year has only started, it’s been tough, for all of us. This month, if you haven’t already found it, you are going to find love.
Many of us will have made New Year’s resolutions and goals, as many do every year! I won’t lie, it has already been a struggle, not just for me, but the people around me too. Perhaps some of you are also struggling, so this article is here to help. Whatever your goal this year, big or small, you can achieve it.
Yes, we are here in 2021 and we all want it to be ‘our year’. But perfection doesn’t exist, so to make this year worthwhile, you need to grow. The start of a new year should not mean you have to change yourself. Let go of the cliché ‘new year, new me’, and instead develop your strengths and improve on your weaknesses. No pressure, no stress, just growth, and the first step to growth? Love
As you may have read in my previous article, true happiness comes from within and to achieve that you need to love who you are, both inside and out. I hope you can use the month of February to love, care, and nourish yourself. Whether you are celebrating Valentine’s, Galantine’s or you are on your own this year, it is important to keep your spirit up in these difficult times. The pandemic we are all currently facing can’t stop us from finding genuine happiness and love within ourselves.
Self-care is a vital component that enables you to find positivity. So to achieve that, I challenge you to find love for yourself this February by doing at least one of the following on this list:
- Do a face mask
- Give yourself an affirmation in the mirror
- Complete a 30 minute workout
- Light some candles
- Make a to do list
- Cook an enjoyable meal/snack
- Go for a peaceful walk
(I’d love to know how you’re getting on: do get in touch on Instagram @workbytlc to find out what I’ve been doing, or tell me about yourself!)
This month is used to emphasise your love for yourself or another, but it’s so important to remember that love shouldn’t just last for a special day once a year. Love should be constant; embrace this situation we are all in and use this time to focus on what you want to do. Traditionally, flowers, chocolates, and even plane tickets are gifted every February to celebrate Valentine’s...well, this year is a little different. So pick up your phones, laptops and tablets and contact everyone you know. Tell them that you love them, what they mean to you, why they make you smile? Tell them.
But most importantly, tell yourself.
This Valentine’s, who will you love? The answer is YOU!
